Do you remember the rumors about one more upcoming smartphone from Sony Ericsson with a codename "Bei-Bei"? Of course you do... :) So the pictures of the prototype of the Bei-Bei have been leaked in the internet...

A couple of days ago, USEB has resurrected rumors about much awaited and buried in oblivion - Sony Ericsson P5 (Paris) with new leaked pictures and some specs.
To be honest, in the beginning I had some doubts about its reality. I thought that it was yet another fake (There were too many P5 fakes :) ) But more and more pictures of "Paris" are coming from various sources, so I guess I was wrong :)
Based on those sources and the USEB, which has unveiled the first picture of the Sony Ericsson P5 - it has become known that, the long awaited smartphone from Sony Ericsson - Sony Ericsson P5 runs recently announced Symbian UIQ 3.3...
The form-factor of this device is "Slider" and it's made from metal and mirror-like front panel. Handset is equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard (As on Sony Ericsson P1i or Sony Ericsson M600) and features W-LAN 802.11b/g, built-in GPS (With preinstalled Google Maps) and 5MP digital camera with auto focus... Phone also supports 3G networks, Bluetooth and USB 2.0 cable connectivity... What about the screen? It is obviously a touchscreen, but there is no specific information about the resolution or colors, but as for me, to be honest, I expected something bigger than that on the pictures :)
So folks, that's all for now. The specifications that we get here are quite impressive, but for now - there are too many questions without answers. Hopefully, that it is not yet another fake. I look forward for getting further details, so stay tuned and let's see what's going to happen...
Do you remember those leaked pictures, which were showing the version of the mysterious Windows Mobile, which is pre-installed on the Sony Ericsson's new handset Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1? I think you do :) So now it's official...
Sony Ericsson officially has confirmed that the first XPERIA branded smartphone will be running Windows Mobile 6.1 together with Sony Ericsson’s unique XPERIA panel user interface (UI).
With the XPERIA's new dashboard, operators will be able to custom build the touch panels that run on the Sony Ericsson X1 to provide consumers with a rich, aggregated offering of their applications and services. In addition, Sony Ericsson also plans to align with key partners around the panel technology to enable them to develop exciting applications that can be enjoyed by users on the XPERIA X1.
If you remember, there were some rumors in the Internet that the upcoming version of the Internet browser for mobile smarphones - Opera mobile 9.5, would not be available for older UIQ 3 phones (I mean Sony Ericsson P1i, W960, P990, e.t.c.). People were speculating that the new version would be only for new handsets, like Sony Ericsson G900, G700 or other upcoming phones and that was very bad news for me.
You see, I'm a lucky owner of the Sony Ericsson P1i and I'm using Internet quite often and efficiently on this handset and as we know Opera Mobile is not replaceable in such cases (OK I know, I know that there is also Opera Mini too... But there are some web sites which are simply unusable in Opera Mini)... So i was very happy when I saw this video on the zdnet blog.
This video is demonstrating some new features of the upcoming Opera Mobile 9.5 and guess what? It's running on Sony Ericsson P1i :)
I am speechless. This is one of the most awesome handsets I've ever seen!
Today I got a really (and I mean really :D) interesting e-mail from someone seeming to be one of our readers. The e-mail mentioned some warm words about our blog and contained one very interesting picture. Is this a leaked (or spy) photo of the upcoming handset from Sony Ericsson?
To me, this device seems to be a high-end handset from the XPERIA line.
To be honest, when I first saw this photo, I thought that it was not yet announced Paris (Sony Ericsson P5) and my gladness had no borders. I've been waiting for P5 for quite long, but the device on the photo is obviously a new High-End XPERIA handset!... And this is why I think so.
First off all, I think you'll agree that the whole look of the handset resembles that of the recently announced Sony Ericsson X1. Second, it's obviously based on Windows Mobile OS. The picture on the screen speaks the same... And I think Paris (Sony Ericsson P5) or Sony Ericsson's other smartphone from P series will be based on Symbian UIQ and not WM.
So let's look at the photo and consider it.
Look at this HUGE screen, it's much bigger than X1's and believe me - the screen of the X1 is big :) and its obviously touchscreen.
As you can see, the form factor of the device is horizontal slider (Like Sony Ericsson X1) and there are no buttons on the front side of the phone!!! This means that the screen is touch sensitive and it doesn't need buttons (Like iPhone, wow). The capture on the screen is unknown to me. As I know, X1 has a different UI, at least this one is different from that, which was shown on the presentation of the handset. But the opened tabs are almost the same as on X1 screen, which was shown on the 3GSM.
The keyboard pretty much looks like that of X1, but if we take a closer look, we can notice a little thing on the right side of the keyboard (Look at the #1 mark on the picture). Frankly, I don't have the slightest idea what it is. Maybe a "scroll" button? Or at least I hope so :D Scroll would be great...
Unfortunately I can't see the front camera or the whole left side of the front view, or back view of the phone to tell with which camera is equipped this miracle, but I guess, after those visible specifications, which we can see on this leaked photo, Sony Ericsson never dares to put bad camera, I think there will be at least 5MP one, with Auto Focus.
OK, and at last words about this photo. To be honest, in my own opinion, this phone is too good to be true. At a moment I think that this picture is another fake, but it's so realistic that it's really difficult to be sure. Either way, bravo to the creator of the photo or to the creator of the device. If this is a real device and the one that can be released anytime soon, then not only will this device be iPhone killer, it can be a killer of every high end handset!!! Of course, this assumption is based on the look as I have no idea what the specifications are.
If we manage to get more pictures of the device, we will post them as a follow up.
We've been waiting for something really, really good and we can say that we got it. With the launch of XPERIA a new era has been come into mobile communications. Long time has passed since I wrote posts about the fake and cloned from Sony Ericsson Chinese phones and it seems to be a good time to return to that topic :)
But lets make some fun ;)
Let's have a quick look at some of the Sony Ericsson P1 wanna be's.
And the nominees of the competition are are:
Gold Star P1i from China and something with name: P1i-Quadband+Dual SIM+Dual Standby+TV (unfortunately I don't know its brand name :( ) and of course from China too.
Little info about competitors:
Gold Star P1i:
Design: Sony Ericsson P1i Clone/Ripoff
Configuration: Chinese Gold Star P1i is equipped with 2 SIM card slots, 2.6 inch touch screen display with 240×320px resolution (26 million colors), camera with video recording support (Look at the picture, position of the camera is just brilliant :D), built-in TV Receiver (Unfortunately I don't know which standard it supports), standard keypad (Not QWERTY), FM Radio and the memory slot for microSD memory cards. It's intended to work in 900/1800 GSM(GPRS) networks and it's contains all kind of software, like video player, image viewer, internet browser and e.t.c, but NOT Symbian UIQ of course!
In the box: Gold Star P1i TV Phone, Charger, 2 Batteries, Earphone handfree, USB cable and 1GB MicroSD memory card (hmm, not bad)
Something With Name: P1i-Quadband+Dual SIM+Dual Standby+TV:
Design: Sony Ericsson P1i Clone/Ripoff
Configuration: If we believe some web sources it's similar to Gold Star P1i, plus front camera for video calls (I don't know is it supports 3G networks or not, but existence of the front camera is a fact).
As you can see the design of those phones is totally ripped from Sony Ericsson P1i, but if the manufacturers had copied the configuration as well... but there is nothing perfect :D
So in spite of the quite close similarity in appearance, I think that everybody would agree that the "Oscar" goes to... Gold Star P1i...
The listings contain pictures of the devices, P3i's picture is the same the one found on Microsoft's site, but P5i is something new, but of course it's not a real one. If I correctly remember, it's one of the P5 concepts :)
Most significant fact is that, the listings contain specifications of the handsets:
Sony Ericsson P3i -------------------------- Network: GSM/GPRS/WCDMA /EDGE/HSDPA; 900/1800/1900/2100MHz Available colours: Silver Size: Unknown Weight: Unknown Display: 260,000 color TFT color screen with 240×320 pixels; Operating system: Symbian9.2 operating system Talk time: Unknown Standby time: Unknown Available: 2007 (Nope, It's not :) ) Standard configuration: Lithium batteries, chargers Reference Price: unknown
Sony Ericsson P5i -------------------------- Network: GSM / GPRS / WCDMA / EDGE / HSDPA; 900/1800MHz Available colours: Unknown Size: Unknown Weight: Unknown Display: 260,000 color TFT color screen 480 × 640 pixels; (Would be nice) Operating system: Symbian OS 9.3, UIQ 3.2 interface Processor: 360 MHz (Oooh, I hope) Talk time: Unknown Standby time: Unknown Available: 2007 (And NOPE again, It's not :) ) Standard configuration: Lithium batteries, chargers Reference Price: unknown
And as I've already said before, those listings is a mistake or carelessness of the webmaster or the person who added these phones and nothing more :)
Sony Ericsson's most awaited smartphone Sony Ericsson P5 is getting more and more popular. With it's specifications the device is already considered an iPhone killer.
We already know approximate specifications of the device, but till now, we knew nothing about design of the handset, however on the Internet some images of the device have appeared.
On the pictures we can see really nice concepts of this gadget. Of course, both images are only concepts, but the matter is that, according to the rumors, both pictures are very close to the real model.
If it's a real appearance of the Sony Ericsson P5 with its specifications the device is really going to be an iPhone killer.
Rumors started to appear on the Internet about Sony Ericsson’s new handset from smart series. It says that the new device will be announced on November 15 and it will be named as Sony Ericsson P5 (Not Sony Ericsson P3, as we expected). It will be equipped with a huge touch-screen display, GPS module, Wi-FI, 5mp camera, new version of UIQ and what is the most important with have a powerful CPU.
For me, that's fantastic information (As I already said, I'm waiting for the next phone from P line impatiently) and I hear about this phone from more and more sources. It’s a bit pity that it’s only a rumor, though. As we have seen a couple of times, the rumors have just remained rumors. For example, not a long ago there were all kind of rumors that on November 6 something really revolutionary would be be announced. However, as we already know, there wasn't anything like P3 or revolutionary presented, not even a new smart-phone, only some ordinary phones. So let's wait for November 15. Just a week remains until we find out what will be released.
