Sony Ericsson Equinox is already launched by T-Mobile company. The quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) Equinox is available since October 28 for $50 with service. The device is a 3G clamshell phone with a cool design that offers “pulsating night effects” to allow users to tell when they get a call or text.

Night effects is a feature that allows you to give your five favorite people their own unique pulsating light effect when a call comes in. The custom light features come in amber, sapphire, beryl, diamond, and amethyst colors.

The midrange feature set includes a 3.2-megapixel camera, a music player, stereo Bluetooth, an FM radio, a personal organizer, USB mass storage, PC syncing, a voice recorder, and a speakerphone. It also supports T-Mobile's 3G network and Sony Ericsson's gesture control feature, which allows you to control some calling functions and the alarm clock by waving your hand across a sensor. Follow the link for more features.

Any idea how much this phone would cost and if it would work with my jabra bluetooth headset?

I don't like clamshells generally, but this phone looks pretty slick.

I'm too spoiled by the Android OS and the touchscreen candybar form factor to ever go back to a regular phone though....

I would like to get this phone for my parents though.

Looking good SE. Glad to see you're pumping out new hot handsets for T-Mobile USA. Keep 'em coming!

Sony Ericsson has a knack for making beautiful multimedia-rich phones and it has certainly done so with the Sony Ericsson Aino.

For your information, Jan Farjh, VP of Ericson Research, wrote an essay about connection and connectivity in the next ten years (http://www.futureagenda.org/?cat=19). He argues that the number of mobile internet users at the end of 2010 (roughly 1bn) will surpass the number of fix internet users. By 2011, the number of mobile broadband connection will be between 4 and 5 bn, and by 2020, he predicts around 50 billion devices worlwide connected to the interweb !!! Wireless technology is set to connect single-use devices in the future. Mobile phone are becoming more like a central, multipurpose remote control.Your comments are welcome !

What an oxymoron. So this phone encourages individualism but obviously SE is trying to get as many sold as possible. So there will be hundreds and thousands of “individuals” running around with the same phone they bought just so they could stand out from the crowd? Good looking phone though. I’d buy one provided the sales tank.

Yeah, I've never really been a fan of flip phones (I like candybars and sliders) but I'm really curious about this one. Luckily, I haven't been spoiled by Android or touchscreens so It'll be more of the same for me, haha.
