If you remember, a while ago I wrote an article about the leaked photos of the new phone in Walkman line. I said that possibly, it is a successor of Sony Ericsson W880. So, for now this information is confirmed and with that, we got some additional information and new photos.

The name of the device is Sony Ericsson W890. Thickness of the prototype is 9,6mm, which is just a little bit thicker then its predecessor. It's equipped with a 2inch QVGA display and a 3,2mp digital camera, Bluetooth with A2DP and supports new Walkman 3.0 media player software and the remaining applications are: VideoDJ, PhotoDJ MusicDJ, RSS-reader, Push e-mail, Remote Control.

The device also has a built-in FM radio with RDS and what is the most unusual - a TV Tuner.

That's all what I know for now, but the information will be updated with the latest details. So, stay tuned and don't forget to subscribe to our RSS feed.

It looks like that Sony Ericsson has decided to give more choice for low-end Walkman users and from now on Sony Ericsson W200i will be available in four new color options. Along with Rhythm Black and White Pulse, Sony Ericsson W200i is now available in: Grey, Sweet Pink, Aquatic White and Mono Blue. It means that low-end W200i will be available in six colors, what is very rare for a manufacturer.

In my opinion, the device is pretty cool. Like other phones from the Walkman line, W200i offers great quality stereo music. Internal storage of the device is only 27MB, but with extended storage - Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™), you can increase it up to 2GB. W200 supports HTML browsing, a 0.3MP VGA camera with 4x digital zoom and 3D gaming. It’s equipped with RDS FM stereo radio and supports Adobe® Flash Lite™ 1.1 and in addition from now on it’s available in 6 colors…

I Think it’s a great choice for budget limited users.

Maybe it was surprise for you to see an article with a subject like this on a blog dedicated to Sony Ericsson, but please give me a moment and I will explain everything.

A Couple days ago, I wrote a post about clones of the Sony Ericsson's devices. Article was about CECT - a well-known Chinese device cloning company. Oh, did I say company? I mean a bureau. As we know it is a little bureau with rich cloning experience, but what about other and bigger companies? Did I say bigger? What about a GIANT company, which owns the largest market share and is a direct competitor of Sony Ericsson??? Yep, I mean NOKIA...

A while ago information about NOKIA's new device Nokia N82 appeared in the Internet. Leaked pictures of the phone have followed quickly. The features of the device are really impressive: 5 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens, auto-focus, up to 20 x digital zoom, Xenon flash, quad band GSM, UMTS and HSDPA connectivity, Symbian based, e.t.c.

But what about the design of the device? Can't you catch a similarity? When I’m looking at the pictures of the device, what first comes to my mind is Sony Ericsson K550i. Don't you agree? They have cloned the housing of the device from K550. I can’t even understand CECT when they are cloning devices, but NOKIA? Shame on NOKIA, shame on …

But that’s not all! Of course meantime CECT didn't stay behind and has cloned the design of Nokia N82, which isn't even released yet. So, CECT has cloned a phone, which Nokia has cloned from Sony Ericsson K550i :D

With the advent of the new phones such as K850 or W910, Sony Ericsson updated PC Suite too. As of writing this, version 3.101.00 is available at SonyErisson.com for download.

Of course, I quickly downloaded it and installed, but unfortunately I can't get my k750 to work with it! It's a pity but I hope it's just a temporary problem.

Anyway, I still can show you some screenshots, which I made during the installation and first application launch, from which you can see how much changes were made and what a great difference is between new and old PC Suites (As I remember the last version was 2.10.46) ...

Not long ago, a picture of Sony Ericsson’s new device has hit the Internet. On the picture, we can see that device is named PXi... What is that? Is this a new prototype of the new device? Or is it just a concept, really nice work made by another amateur designer? Or maybe it’s another concept or even a prototype of the long awaited Sony Ericsson P3??? I dare to ask that because as we know, same thing was with the latest SE smartphone Sony Ericsson P1, in early appearance, the device was wearing another name – Sony Ericsson P700…

I don’t know what is that, but the fact is that I really like it, really nice design with huge screen…

So what we can say about it, it’s equipped with huge display, maybe 3.3 inch and it’s obvious a touch screen. I can also see a little front camera and that means that device supports 3G. I also can see red jogdial button on the right side of the device and housing reminding Sony Ericsson P1i. According to the serial name P, the device is smartphone and that means that the OS is based on UIQ… That’s all I can say for now.

To be honest I don’t believe pictures like this and I think that it’s just another fake and I don't know why, but I really like it.

Motorola has recently announced intention to buy a 50% stake of UI Holdings BV - the parent company of UIQ Technology AB, which is currently wholly owned by Sony Ericsson.

In this regard, Sony Ericsson and Motorola will jointly develop UIQ platform, which is one of the major modifications of the operating system Symbian and they have agreed to make a platform UIQ open to all producers. They are committed to further advancing UIQ as a strong, independent cross-vendor user interface for smartphones and media-centric phones.

As we know, UIQ is developing an interface for Symbian based phones. In 2002, the company offered the industry’s first touch-screen interface and now supports both QWERTY and classic numerical keyboard configurations as well as finger touch data input. UIQ’s single code base greatly simplifies customization for handset vendors, operators and third-party developers.

Among the most successful Symbian/UIQ devices released by Sony Ericsson and Motorola can be noted Sony Ericsson P1 smartphone and Sony Ericsson W960 music smartphone from Walkman family and Motorola - MOTO Z8.

Many analysts think that Sony Ericsson’s and Motorola’s intention to jointly develop UIQ platform for Symbian OS is due to the growing popularity of alternative operating systems for smart phones. According to ABI Research, in 2006, the Symbian OS accounted for a 73% market share. However, it is predicted that by 2012, faced by strong competition from Windows Mobile and Linux, Symbian's market share can fall down to 46%.

Unfortunately, nothing has been reported about the financial side of the transaction, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2007.

Sony Ericsson has announced its new wireless (Bluetooth) accessories, portable speakers MBS-100 and automotive loud speakers HCB-105.

As you can see MBS-100 is implemented in a very unusual design: it is implemented in the form of 100 mm diameter ball, available in black color and the weight is 225 grams. The Speakers are equipped with a battery that provides 5 hours of work time from one charge.

I think it is a perfect accessory for your Sony Ericsson Walkman phone or most other Bluetooth enabled music phones, because the MBS-100 is compatible with all mobile phones, supporting Bluetooth A2DP profile.

The second accessory - HCB-105 is an automotive loud communication system (Car speakerphone kit) working on the Bluetooth interface. The sizes of the device is 130x53x22 mm. HCB-105 is able to work for up to 25 hours on a conversation and for up to 700 hours in standby mode from one battery charge.

Sony Ericsson hasn't revealed the prices yet. The only thing that we know is that MBS-100 will be available from Q4 2007 in selected markets and the HCB-105 will arrive in Q1 2008.

Today I want to present you with another Sony Ericsson clone from already well-known Chinese device cloning company CECT - CECT C2000+. This time, the device is cloned from Walkman seriesW660i.

Frankly, I don’t understand why those guys from CECT steal designs from other devices. There are so many talented designers out there who can make much better housing… Well OK, lets say that making a cool design costs money and they are saving those hard earned bucks, but there are so many cool concepts on the Internet made by amateur designers, it would take less then fifteen minutes to search for those concepts. I noted that because, in my opinion, those designers will be just happy if somebody turns those ideas and concepts into reality.

Anyway, as I've already said, design of CECT C2000+ is totally cloned from Sony Ericsson W660i and carries name SongLive. It is also equipped with a 2.4 inch, 240x320 touch sensitive display, 2MP camera and supports microSD memory format.

Let me present you a new concept of Sony Ericsson K660i Cyber-Shot.

In my opinion, the device design is pretty cool, but technical characteristics do not meet modern demands.

As we can see on the picture, concept of K660i is equipped with 2,1 inch QVGA 262k color display, 2mp camera and supports Memory Micro (M2) memory format. We also can see that the device is 3G enabled and equipped with front camera for video calls.

It could be very hard to differentiate it from another model of
Sony Ericsson's Cyber-Shot series - K770i. Basically, the concept designer thinks that it’s only the camera that would make all the difference.

However, I think that if this concept is implemented, it will have great demand and it will find its costumers.

Today I found some interesting spy pics on the Internet. The pictures are supposed to be featuring Sony Ericsson P3. I don't know real P3s or just a fakes are shown on the pictures. As you can see for yourself, there is not much to look at. Plus as I perceive, there is two different phones, take a look at keyboard side.

Today, when I was surfing the internet, I accidentally found something interesting, but before I tell you what is that, let me ask you a question:
What we get, if we cross NOKIA N73 and Sony Ericsson K810???
The answer on this question is that, what I found today, it is a new CECT 918.

The matter is, that CECT, developing 918 phone, simply borrowed buttons on the device from a well-known Sony Ericsson’s camera phone - K810 and the other parts of the device from also well-known NOKIA smartphone - N73, or N73 Music Edition.

It is known that 918 monoblock CECT has two speakers, camera with a resolution of 2.0mp and two slots for SIM cards, which is almost common standard for mobile phones, created in China.

CECT 918 is equipped with 320x240, 262k color QVGA sensor display, it also supports expansion slot for memory cards - microSD and has built-in mediaplayer. Time for talk is limited to 3 hours and 240 hours in standby mode.

Not so long ago, in the internet appears rumors about Sony Ericsson’s new Walkman - W999i. As it turns out, these rumors confirmed.
Confirmation of this rumor was received by accident: Journalists found that at the GSM Association, the model was inadvertently introduced by Sony Ericsson to the list of announced phones.
It was anticipated that W999i would be a budget phone, but it turned out that it is not.
The Phone looks very similar to the recently announced SE W580i… It will come with HSDPA, will be equipped by the 2,4 inch 262k color QVGA screen, will have the 2-MP auto-focus camera, FM Radio, and it will be only 12.5-mm thick. W999i also will be equipped with QWERTY keyboard, like SE M600 or SE P1. W999i will support Memory Stick Micro (M2) memory stick format.

We don’t know when
Sony Ericsson gonna release it, we have only to wait and see.
